The process of having x11vnc service started at boot time has changed slightly since lightdm manager has been replaced by the GDM display Manager. Since Canonical has dropped Unity desktop and replaced it with Gnome Desktop, it has been challenging to get a vnc server started at boot up and being able to perform a remote connection to the machine.
